Day 20.
Took Adrenaline XR and Estrotest first thing in the morning with glass of fruit juice.
Very good morning run, managed to better my time by about 2 minutes over 6kms, felt really strong and my cardio is much improved. Did 3 kata hard and fast after the run, totally knackered me!
Put this on Facebook, but I thought it nicely captures WHY I am doing this.
Was trying to crack 5 mins a km on the way back, was going flat out (well not that fast), on the foot path.
An old guy was walking along, normal "rule" is keep left, anyway he stepped half way into the path. I figure he was trying to get out of my way back going right, so I gasp out "Stay the line mate! Stay your line!". Got around him and off I galloped.
At the end of my run, only about 500m further along I was walking around to cool down and the old guy comes past. So I start apologising, but he cuts me off.
'You told me to "Stay the line" but I can hardly walk in a straight line anymore, I used to run up and down this beach, but I can't any more'.
So I say to him 'Well at least you are walking mate! My Mom died at 65 odd and she could barely walk 20m (and here I was nice to him), you must be about 65 or so, looks like you still in great shape.' (he seriously only looked 70, maybe 75 TOPS)
'65! I wish, I'm 89!', he laughed.
To which I replied, 'Well that's why I am running like a lunatic while I am a "young fella", so when I am an "old fella" I can look like you, no disrespect intended'.
Never seen such an smile! He High Five'd me and strolled off laughing!
And that folks is why I am up at 7am on a Saturday morning, running!
Had friends around for Pizza night, so was a little bad. The weight lose seems to have plateaued a bit. Might have to push hard next week.
